SPRING 2023 NEWSLETTER
Dear students, parents and supporters of Missouri Academy of Music,
As we are finalizing our spring semester, we wanted to reach out and invite you to our upcoming events on April 23th and May 14th!
We have had a busy spring with weekly orchestra and chamber music rehearsals. We enjoyed two enrichment sessions, first one with a very special guest, concert violinist Chloé Trevor and pianist Jonathan Tsay. Chloe and Jonathan gave a Masterclass to students on a variety on topics, but mainly focusing on the working relationship between a soloist and a collaborative pianist. Our students were also able to hear Chloé and Jonathan that night in recital as part the Missouri United Methodist Church Concert series.
Just last week, we welcomed a new guest speaker to our enrichment program - our friend, Monica Senecal Palmer. She taught our students about public speaking. As musicians, we often have to speak in concerts, or hold interviews, therefore this preparation is necessary. Monica turned this into a game and it was great fun for our students and faculty.
On March 15th as part of our Young Hearts Program, our younger orchestra - MAM Sinfonietta gave a performance at the Lenoir Memory Care Unit. It was wonderful to see that students even as young as eight years old can contribute their time and talent, and share their love of music with those who wouldn’t otherwise be able to hear live music.

Please join us on Sunday, April 23rd for our Spring Concert at 7PM at Broadway Christian Church.
Our annual ice cream social and picnic is scheduled for Sunday, May 14th at 4 PM at Hulen Lake Shelter. This picnic is for is Academy students, their families and Academy Angels and supporters.
