November Newsletter 2021
May 3, 2022MAM Concert and Picnic Invitation 2022
May 5, 2022
In this newsletter we would proudly like to share our successes from these two semesters and invite you to our upcoming concerts and a picnic!
Well, so far during both semesters we successfully executed our mission on every front. We were delighted right away with the number of students that signed up with MAM last summer and more joined us this January! Our current numbers are 40 students in the Virtuosi and 9 in Sinfonietta. Our students rehearse in large ensembles and in small chamber music groups weekly. In the first semester we had two successful formal concerts, the Winter concert and the Collaborative concert with the Collegedale Academy from Tennessee.
As per our mission of bringing music to people who are not able to come to concerts in the traditional setting, we continue to be amazed by the willingness of our students to participate in the Young Hearts Program. We have brought music to the residents of Terrace Retirement Community, Lenoir Senior Living and Solstice Senior Living. Our students also played for the guests of the Room At The Inn - the homeless shelter. All of these performances are voluntarily given by students on their own free time.
We still have one of the Young Hearts performances left, scheduled for June 6th at ACT, a community organization that serves people with physical and mental disabilities.
Follow us on social media, we are active on Instagram and Facebook and post weekly about music, our rehearsals and concerts.
We’re also excited to share that we have beautiful new brochures and very cool bumper stickers! If you would like to support us by displaying them on your car or instrument case, please let us know, you can also pick one up at our upcoming concerts!
Finally, we are grateful for all of our students, without whose dedication to weekly rehearsal and practice time our organization would not exist. We also appreciate their private teachers who support our mission. We are grateful for parents who drive their young students to weekly rehearsals and concerts.
Last but not least we are grateful for YOU - our supporters who have underwritten our vision and mission and helped us financially to enable the Missouri Academy of Music to exist!
All the best,
Kirk and Maria Trevor
